Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen | Paris Flea Market Tour
For anyone who believes a morning rummaging around old things is time very well spent.
What this experience feels like
The Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen is one of those seemingly fabled places that sits just beyond Paris’ border; where you can arrive with absolutely nothing in mind and, in no time at all, find yourself seriously starting to contemplate whether you need all of the things.
The Puces stretch across seven hectares in a patchwork of individual markets, shops, stalls and narrow passages, each with its own distinct personality. And while finding something wonderful is always a possibility, a Puces adventure spans much more than just shopping.
About the Route:
There’s a lot to take in at the Puces, so we’ll spend the morning getting to know the place by walking through a handful of its markets, stopping wherever curiosity catches us and getting a feel for just how different one marché can be from the next.
We’ll also go back to the beginnings of the Puces, when ragpickers and second-hand dealers began gathering just outside the Paris fortifications and follow some of the history that turned what was once a fairly makeshift affair into the sprawling market we’re experiencing today.
Most importantly, there’s time to actually look around. If you want to rummage through a box, disappear into a shop, ask about something peculiar or seriously consider buying that something special, we can.
