Explore Montmartre Through Film Photography

An analog photo walk (with a disposable camera) through one of Paris’ most storied neighborhoods.

What this experience feels like

We’ll walk through Montmartre together ⁓ not just the landmarks, but the streets and corners in between that are holding the history that make this neighborhood so fascinating.

With a disposable camera in hand, you’ll learn a few simple photography principles to help you start noticing things differently. We’ll play with composition and movement as we go and I’ll share the stories and context that bring what you’re seeing into focus.

It’s not a lecture and never rushed ⁓ just a different way of seeing one of the city’s best loved arrondissements.

Along the route

  • Montmartre Cemetery

  • The Moulin Rouge and the story behind it

  • Rue Lepic and scenes from everyday Paris life

  • Place des Abbesses and Le Mur des Je t’aime

  • Sacré-Cœur and one of the city’s best viewpoints

  • Place du Tertre and Montmartre’s artistic past

Shooting on film

You’ll be using a disposable camera throughout the walk ⁓ no experience needed.

I’ll give you simple guidance along the way.
