This isn’t a photo shoot… You’ll capture your own photographs using a disposable film camera as we move through Montmartre’s most expressive streets.
Montmartre on Film: Analog Photography Tour
You’ll see Sacré-Cœur, Moulin Rouge, Le Mur des Je t’aime, incredible neighborhood street art and more.
Along our walking route we'll dive into the history behind one of Paris' most artistic neighborhoods and you’ll learn analog photography tips, so you leave with a roll of film souvenirs that are entirely yours.
Here’s what our photography adventure will look like:
Montmartre Cemetery. We’ll meet just around the corner from this historic cemetery. I’ll show you how to use your pocket film camera, provide guidance on how to capture standout shots throughout the tour and then we’ll begin.
Moulin Rouge. Learn the story behind one of the world’s most famous cabaret while photographing your own souvenir of the iconic red windmill.
Rue Lepic. We’ll pass by Café des Deux Moulins (made famous by Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s film Amélie) and practice street photography, capturing daily life and colorful murals most visitors overlook.
Place des Abbesses. We’ll explore Place des Abbesses and visit Le Mur des je t’aime (I Love You Wall,) where you’ll practice your artistic eye. Capture street scenes and experiment with framing techniques while enjoying the slower pace of film photography in this lively corner of Montmartre.
Basilique du Sacre Coeur. Photograph the impressive exterior of Sacre Coeur Basilica, the fabled 'sinking house' of Montmartre and enjoy a panoramic (and, yes, photogenic) view of Paris from one of the city's best lookout points.
Place du Tetre. Step into the artistic square of Place du Tetre and discover how Montmartre’s past shaped what it is today.
Place Saint-Pierre. We’ll conclude our tour at Place Saint-Pierre, home to the charming Carousel de Saint-Pierre. Finish your roll by photographing the beautifully carved wooden horses and after the tour I’ll share a PDF guide with Paris film labs, advice on film storage and development and tips to keep your journey going.
